Announcing the locallea Amazing Race!
A Leaside Adventure
One lucky contestant will win the Grand Prize of a locallea Shopping Spree of $1,000!
locallea Passports will be available at participating Merchants on February 1, 2012 as well as on locallea.com. You have until February 26th to get at least 5 stamps on your passport when you purchase something and present your passport at different participating retailers. The more stamps you get the better your chance of winning the $1,000 local shopping spree at the locallea Merchants of your choice, or other great prizes from our great mix of great merchants!
The best part is that for every passport submitted by you, $35 will go to the Leaside Arena Expansion Project. So when you take the time and effort to visit at least 5 merchants, everybody wins. You get great product and service...maybe at a deal price. The Merchant gets you business, and hopefully you come back. And community projects get much needed money. Everybody wins if the consumer does their part!

A little about locallea
Leaside is full of entrepreneurs and small business owners. Thus many residents here recognize the big risk that comes with small business. Whether they have a franchise or a uniquely branded business, these owners have really put themselves out there.
locallea is an initiative created by Leasiders to support community and help ensure the success of small business in our area. If these merchants and businesses are successful, then they can contribute back to our community and society as a whole. This makes Leaside as well as our neighbouring areas better places.
locallea is a "deal" so to speak between the residents of Leaside (as well as others who shop here) and the merchants that do business in our area. The deal is that the residents will direct more of their spend to locallea stores and sometimes they will get more in return for doing so. Our merchants and businesses want you to know about their services and shop their stores...and they are willing to reward you for it!
The really great thing about locallea is that it benefits more than just consumers and the merchants. There is a third stakeholder that benefits every step of the way, which is community. Whether it is a Food Bank or the Leaside Arena Expansion Project, when you redeem a locallea coupon you are indirectly donating to a good cause.
locallea is run by an independent marketing company that is locally owned and operated. We started locallea with the intention of "giving back" by supporting local business and community. We are not being paid for any of our time, energy or expertise but hope that locallea will at least soon be able to pay for itself!
